I believe the regime of space is where an object could complete a single orbit in freefall without significant atmouspheric drag, and that is classically known to be 60 miles above the earth. I believe V2s launched by NACA (no typo!) reached this altitude, but obviously not in an orbital trajectory.

Also, the accepted wordwide altitude of the beginning of space is 50 to 62 miles. He didn't even reach 20 miles. He was on the edge of space, but helium/hydrogen balloons can't rise any more than around 130,000 feet before bursting. Hope I helped.

1) Nowhere is there a point in the universe where there is "no" gravity. Anything that has mass has gravity. Space isn't a perfect vacuum, it still has some particles-which have mass. 2) He couldn't go any higher. The reason why he got that high was because of his helium/hydrogen filled balloon. The atmosphere at 100,000 feet was barely thick enough to allow the balloon to keep rising. Even the most high-tech ballons can't rise beyond 150-170,000 feet.

yellow ramp?no.technically it was this exact ramp he lost his spleen on but that was a few months before this when it was still half of his mega half pipe(using his motorized bike)when they were just starting to paint the ramp.this was practice for his big ramp demo for the okc bs comp 93.steve swope(the guy towin mat)knocked down half of the halfpipe while mat was on biztrip so mat wouldnt kill himself.the quarter was dragged to the field and ramps set up where the halfpipe was for the bs comp.
