What is the problem with Chinese people originated in China? There is something called immigration. Then, there is reproduction. You don't have to be born in China to call yourself a Chinese, as a race, not nationality. As for the part of "other countries belonging to China when Chinese people are there," it can either be due to your misinterpretation or stupidity of the minors. Either way, it does not justify your statement of China is trying to over-claim its territory, which is not true.

Although some Mandarin-speaking people refer to Mandarin as Chinese, Cantonese is in fact a dialect of Chinese just like Mandarin. There is absolutely nothing special about Mandarin except the mere fact that it was chosen as the official dialect of mainland China. erm lolz im chinese i learn mandarin in school but my dad in cantonese lemme clear some doubts i live in singapore and in singapore alot ppl refer to mandarin as chinese even though we ARE aware of other dialects (hokkein,teochew,hakka,cantonese etc.)this is because in school they call it mother tongue and 'chinese class' and that is where we get the word chinese to refer to mandarin therefore alot people tend to call it 'chinese'(even me occasionally)

to me i feel that they are both equally good but the cantonese version has a certain sort of substance...and because the mandarin one was made to fit the cantonese one so the lyrics do not fit as well and do not say i am biased because i leave in singapore and i take mandarin lessons not cantonese and they both talk about contrast the cantonese version tells about how the next year on the same day how his life is going to change and the what is left behind is just memories of the past

I have listened to both versions of this song. Anyway Cantonese is written in Chinese characters and any literate Chinese understand what the Cantonese version means. And what I am trying to say is the Mandarin lyrics is simpler, more natural and rhythmic and having a deeper and more profound meaning because the lyrics is telling a love story that have lasted ten years. Anybody who has similar experience should be deeply moved. That is why the Mandarin version is more renowned.

i think its saying that no one is alone in this world. u needa look at the line b4 this in order to understand the meaning. ????????? ????????? implies that when u take a nap in the train, or in the train station, u r probably thinking of someone, but the person sitting next to u isnt neccesarily the one u r thinking of. ????? ????????????? says that thx to the train station, there r at least other ppl on the platform, which makes u not alone. and the lines that followed imply similar meanings.

Hi Chikiba, like u i love this song very much though it's such a sad song. Everytime I listen to it it just make me wanna cry. Eason on this clip said that this is going to be the last time he's singing it.. but I really hope he'd sing it again and again.. it touches me each time I hear him sing live on stage!!
